Man with Rolex Mugged, Beaten Unconscious Moments Before Catching Elevator, Suspect in LAPD Custody

In a shocking incident captured on surveillance footage, a man with a Rolex was brutally mugged and beaten unconscious in downtown Los Angeles. The video, released by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), shows the victim being assaulted and robbed of his valuable watch. The suspect, Pablo Garcia, 25, of Los Angeles, was later apprehended and charged with robbery. On April 28, 2024, in the 800 block of East 1st Street, a man was waiting for an elevator when the suspect, dressed in a black and white hoodie, approached him. The suspect reached for the victim’s Rolex watch and then viciously assaulted him, rendering the victim unconscious. The video shows the suspect repeatedly striking the man in the head until he was unable to resist and then fleeing the scene with the stolen watch.The victim’s items were scattered across the floor as he fell, and he had to receive medical treatment for his injuries. Fortunately, on May 14, police located Garcia in Downey, California, and arrested him without incident. Authorities suspect Garcia may have other unreported victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
